چکیده

Fault detection and isolation (FDI) is a useful tool to investigate proper performance of dynamic systems. With respect to hydraulic actuators, as they are extensively used in industry, and are responsible for producing accurate displacements and high forces, FDI role is crucial. One of the phenomena that can affect the internal leakage detection is the variation in the value of fluid effective bulk modulus (EBM) originating mainly from the penetration of particles, water or air in the fluid. Hydraulic actuator internal leakage detection using wavelet transform technique is the focus of this paper. This study shows how the increase in the value of EBM affects the detection of the internal leakage using wavelet transform. Simulation results indicate that the increase in EBM value could change the sensitivity of the wavelet detailed coefficients to the internal leakage. Based on results, the level three detailed coefficient calculated from chamber one pressure signal could be an appropriate indicator to detect the internal leakage in a hydraulic actuator whose EBM is larger than normal value.

Passivity Based Nonlinear Control of Hydraulic Actuators Based on an Euler-lagrange Formulation

A passivity framework for hydraulic actuators is developed by consideration of the compressibility energy function for a fluid with a pressure dependent bulk modulus. The typical actuator’s mechanical and pressure dynamic model is shown to be the Euler-Lagrange equations for this energy function. A passivity property for the actuator is exhibited in which the hydraulic supply rate contains the ...

Edge Detection with Hessian Matrix Property Based on Wavelet Transform

In this paper, we present an edge detection method based on wavelet transform and Hessian matrix of image at each pixel. Many methods which based on wavelet transform, use wavelet transform to approximate the gradient of image and detect edges by searching the modulus maximum of gradient vectors. In our scheme, we use wavelet transform to approximate Hessian matrix of image at each pixel, too. ...

Robust Control of Electro-Hydraulic Actuator Systems Using the Adaptive Back-Stepping Control Scheme

Conventional hydraulic actuator (CHA) systems have been widely used as power units because they can generate very large power compared to their size. In general, a CHA system consists of an electric motor, a pump, a reservoir, various valves, hoses, which are used to transfer the working fluid and an actuator. CHA systems, however, have some problems such as environmental pollution caused by th...

Estimating an appropriate plastic concrete mixing design for cutoff walls to control leakage under the earth dam.

Making use of concrete materials in cut-off walls, because of their low permeability and standing high Hydraulic Gradient caused by underground drainage, has attracted great amount of attention. Using ordinary concrete with high elasticity modulus, compared to other materials may accompany with problems including brittleness of cutoffs due to dynamic stresses. To solve this problem, adding a ce...
